We are entering the new decade here at magicgenie.co.uk, with renewed enthusiasm. 2009 was a difficult year for a large number of businesses, both big and small, and we were no different. However, despite the tough economic climate we have continued to grow steadily and that is all down to you – our loyal customers. So as always, our sincerest thanks for your continued support and custom.
The fact that we have carefully, step by step built magicgenie.co.uk from scratch, allowing for steady, secure growth rather than a speedy expansion built upon insecure foundations means that we are not as susceptible to the economic downturn as many other webhosting companies. We can move into this new decade in a far more secure position than many of our rivals, ensuring that we can continue to build on the success of the previous five years.
Keeping in line with our enthusiastic outlook, 2010 will see a number of improvements here at magicgenie.co.uk – none more so than a ‘brand spanking new’ website which should be up and running by Spring. In addition, as always, we shall be updating the usual servers and systems to ensure that your websites run as smoothly as is possible. Please continue to regularly check the ‘News’ pages as we will use them (as well as emails) to keep you informed about further plans for the forthcoming year.

Newsletter March 2009 |
Just a quick update to keep you all informed as to the upgrades we are currently carrying out here at magicgenie.co.uk.
Firstly, we have recently upgraded our database software, MySQL to version 5. This will upgrade not proven stable will increase the functions of the software allowing increased usability and an increase in support for newer PHP scripts. While we have tested this software with all popular web scripts and software, if you are experiencing problems please contact us, and we will work to fix your issues
Also, for those of you who use the magicgenie.co.uk Support Forum, it is currently offline as part of our current site regeneration to carry out some changes and various improvements. We apologise for any inconvenience and the new forum should up online soon as part of our new site, better than ever!
And last, but not least, the magicgenie.co.uk survey is still online. For those of you who haven’t taken a minute or so to complete it, we would very much appreciate any feedback, as it helps us to constantly improve the products and services that we can offer. The survey can be found at:

Newsletter February 2009 |
As you may well have noticed, we have recently introduced a new client centre. This new client centre (magicgenie.co.uk/clients) has a new interface which is both aesthetically superior to our previous version and easier to navigate. This version is currently in a BETA (testing) stage, and although fully functional, we would appreciate any feedback with regards to improvements that can be made to the system whilst it is in this BETA stage. In addition to the Client Centre upgrades, we have also introduced a new webmail system (http://wmail.magicgenie.co.uk). As with the Client Centre, whilst we hope and are confident all our customers find the new system an easy and reliable way to manage their emails and events, if you are experiencing any problems please let us know!
If you have any additional questions, queries or problems with the new systems or any other magicgenie.co.uk product or system, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please note, passwords and logins are unaffected by the changes.

First of all, we hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year!
2009 promises to be another exciting year here at magicgenie.co.uk. 2009 will see magicgenie.co.uk celebrate its fifth birthday. In April to mark the occasion we will be launching a new website, complete with additional features and a more user friendly interface. In addition to this, to celebrate five successful years we will be running a number of promotions for both new and existing customers. More information with regards to these promotions will be released closer to the date so keep a look out!!
You may not have heard from us much lately but you can rest assured that we have been busy behind the scenes, quietly working on a number of projects. 2008 saw us once again upgrade our servers and other systems (at no extra cost to our customers) and most importantly for you, for the third year running we froze our prices! Our prices in January 2009 are still the same as what they were in January 2006 – and that’s something we are immensely proud of, especially as it has been achieved during a period of rising inflation.

If you have a couple of spare minutes (and we promise it will take no more than a couple of minutes!!) then we would appreciate it greatly if you could respond to our survey and fill out the short questionnaire. Newsletter January 2008 |
Firstly, a Happy New Year to everyone.
Here at magicgenie.co.uk we are looking forward to building on the success of 2007. 2007 was an extremely busy and hectic twelve months for magicgenie.co.uk, and we have no intention of letting 2008 be any different!
2007 saw us implement a number of upgrades which enhanced the service that all our customers receive:
• Extensively upgraded and invested in our servers
• Implemented our new Client Management System
• Introduced our easy to use Sitebuilder
• Launched the magicgenie.co.uk Survey
• Introduced a new Webmail System
• And, best of all...froze our prices!!
We have plenty of other upgrades planned for 2008 which we will be unveiling over the course of the next few months. The first of our upgrades will be the Cpanel X3 Interface and will be launched within the next few days. We hope that this interface will make controlling and managing your websites even easier than before.
The new interface also contains a ‘theme switch’ which allows you to choose the interface that you find the easiest to use. As always, if you have any questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Summer News |
Welcome to the latest edition of magicgenie.co.uk news, hot off the press…
First of all, we have been as busy as ever here at magicgenie.co.uk. We have recently upgraded the servers again and have been busy preparing for various system enhancements, which we hope to implement over the course of the summer.
The website templates that we introduced back in March have been a great success with many customers finding them a useful way to set up a useful holding page for a website they have not got around to building yet. They are also an excellent way for inexperienced website creators to set up a reliable website from which they can build on. You can use the website templates, simply by logging into your Cpanel account and going to 'add-ons' then clicking 'magicgenie.co.uk sitebuilder'. Then just follow the simple instructions.

Well, we've introduced a sitebuilder that is now available to all our customers. This sitebuilder comes complete with over 100 website templates and allows you to construct a fully functional website within minutes!

New Client Management System |
In the run up to magicgenie.co.uk’s 2nd birthday we are pleased to annouce the first of many improvements to our service within the next few weeks!
To get this series of improvements under way, magicgenie.co.uk is pleased to announce the implementation of a new Client Management System.
This investment of both our time and finances in a superior Client Management System will improve the service that we already offer and make it easier for you to submit and track the process of your support requests and view and pay billing invoices.
This new management system will also be integrated with our account purchasing and upgrading systems, which will allow our staff to deal with the processing of your purchases and renewals more efficiently. New accounts can be processed almost immediately, allowing you to log into your account faster than previously after your initial purchase!
Current customers will be adopted into the new system within the next two weeks and you will be emailed your login details for the system when this process is complete. The new signup script has been implemented for Cpanel hosting accounts with the WHM resellers being transferred to the new system within the next two weeks.

New Year. New Servers! |
We are pleased have successfully transferred our servers to a new data centre. The whole process went perfectly to plan and caused less than 30 minutes of downtime. This new data centre will give us the increased reliability that we demand from our data centres.
Our new data centre guarantees that in the event of a dedicated server hardware failure, the faulty hardware will be replaced within 2 hours of identifying the problem. They also guarantee network uptime to be 100%. This guarantee assures that all major routing devices within their network are reachable from the global internet 100% of the time.
The backup system is also improved the datacentre will be conducting Nightly Off-Server Backups, to a much more secure server, with fail safe in place if there is errors in the transfer, as well as our own transfer. IMPORTANT: It is also vital that you personally back up your own websites. If you require information on how to do this please do not hesitate to contact us.
The Cpanel interface has also been updated. If you feel more comfortable to using the previous Cpanel interface then please do not hesitate to contact us and our technical staff will return your interface back to its original format.
Our investment in this level of service, at no extra cost to yourselves, means that the reliability of your websites should now be second to none. Something which we feel is very important.
You should experience no change to your site, however sometimes updates can happen to sites after the transfer. The old server will remain online for a period of a month, to provide access in the unlikely event that files have been missed in the transfer. Please Contact Us if you think this has affected you.
In addition to this we will soon be investing in some new systems, which we will be announcing soon!

The closing date for any compensation claims regarding downtime that some of our customers suffered in November 2006 has now passed.
Any unclaimed compensation money has been, as promised, donated to Cancer Research UK.

Merry Christmas! |
Here at magicgenie.co.uk it’s been a very busy and exciting 2006! We have developed more than we could have ever hoped for thus enabling us to continually reinvest and enhance the services that we provide to our customers. All our customers can now access services such as an advanced Webmail system and a detailed and extensive account management along with web statistics and enhanced support tracking. We plan to increase the range of services early in 2007 and allow you to use even more features to manage and monitor your accounts. All these updates will be available to all customers, both existing and new, at no extra cost to yourself.
The deadline for compensation claims with regards to the server downtime that a small group of our customers experienced last month is fast approaching and the deadline for placing claims is 31/12/06.

Any unclaimed compensation money will donated to Cancer Research (registered charity No. 1089464).
We worked hard to restore the service to affected customers and most complications have been ironed out although unfortunately a very small minority have still suffered a small amount of unexpected downtime.
We are currently reviewing and renewing all our systems and these will all be in place in early 2007. We have already installed new server backup systems to ensure that all our sites will be extremely secure on our servers. Important: It is important that each customer also backs up their websites individually. If you require any advice on the most effective way to back up your site please do not hesitate to contact us.
During 2006 we have been reviewing our service and have implemented some points that customers have raised over the year. We always welcome your viewpoint and if you have any opinions on how we can improve our service to you we would be delighted to hear from you!
The support forum is always available for general queries or questions that you may have with regards to either our services or webhosting in general. Alternatively, you can email us via the links on the magicgenie.co.uk pages.
Our support, sales and enquires will operate as normal over Christmas and New Year.
And finally, but most importantly the magicgenie.co.uk team would like to thank you all for your custom this year. Our customers are the most important part of our business and your custom is sincerely appreciated.
